Cardiology is the branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the heart and blood vessels. The field is commonly divided in the branches of coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease and electrophysiology. Physicians specializing in this field of medicine are called cardiologists.

The basic anatomy of heart blood vessels includes  -  Epicardium, Pericardium, Myocardium, Papillary muscle,  Endocardium, Coronary circulation (Blood supply of the heart) and  Heart valves. The coronary circulation consists of the blood vessels that supply blood to, and remove blood from, the heart. The vessels that supply blood high in oxygen to the heart are known as coronary arteries. The vessels that remove the deoxygenated blood from the heart are known as cardiac veins. The heart valves in the heart limits blood flow to a single direction by opening and closing depending on the difference in pressure on each side. There are four valves of the heart: Two atrioventricular (AV) valves - ensure blood flows from the atria to the ventricles, and not the other way, Two semilunar valves - these are present in the arteries leaving the heart, and they prevent blood flowing back from the artery into the ventricle. The sound of the heart valves shutting causes the heart sounds

The heart diseases and disorders of the include -  Coronary heart disease (Ischaemic heart disease, Coronary artery disease, Acute coronary syndrome - Angina, Myocardial infarction (Heart attack) , Cardiomyopathy , Arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia (Arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy) , Congestive heart failure, Cardiac arrest , Primary tumors of the heart, Disorders of the pericardium (outer lining of the heart), Disorders of the heart valves Disorders of the electrical system of the heart (Cardiac electrophysiology), Cardiac arrhythmias, Heart block , Specific diseases of the electrical system of the heart,  Inflammation and infection of the heart, Congenital heart disease, Diseases of blood vessels (Vascular diseases)

The hospital has facilities for treatment of nearly all heart disease and disorders. It is equipped with state of art medical equipment which includes facilities for Pathology investigations of Cardiac Profile, ECG, stress test (TMT), Echo Color Doppler – 2 nos, Intra Aortic Balloon Pump, Multichannel Cardiac monitoring systems, Intensive Care facilities, Cardiac & Vascular Angiography system including Digital Subtraction Angiography, and others.

The hospital was the first in this region of Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh to start the facilities of intervention Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery. Interventional cardiology is a branch of the medical specialty of cardiology that deals specifically with the mechanical treatment of heart diseases. A large number of cardiac procedures can be performed by catheterization. This involves the insertion of a sheath into the femoral artery (or theoretically any large peripheral artery) and cannulating the heart under X-ray vision (most commonly fluoroscopy, a real-time x-ray). Procedures performed by specialists in interventional cardiology – Angiography, Angioplasty (PTCA, Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty) - for coronary atherosclerosis, Radio frequency ablation - for arrhythmias, Mace procedure - for atrial fibrillation,  Insertion of artificial pacemakers Valvulotomy to treat valve disorders and others.
